GENERAL RULES
The Competition will take place in Padova - Italy in Auditorium Museo Nazionale dell'Internato Ignoto (Viale Internato Ignoto 24) and Palazzo Zacco-Armeni (Prato della Valle 82) from June the 28th to July the 4th 2010. The Final with Symphony Orchestra will take place the 23th of January 2011 in Auditorium Music Conservatory "Cesare Pollini" in Padova. The dead line from application is 26 May 2010.
The Competition is subdivided in:
1) 8th INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION PREMIO CITTA' DI PADOVA 2) 8th INTERNATIONAL EDITION OF " PREMIO VIRTUOSITE' " 3) 4th INTERNATIONAL EDITION FOR SOLOISTS AND ORCHESTRA
1) 8th INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION "PREMIO CITTA' DI PADOVA" This competition is divided up into 10 sections: piano, string instruments, wind instruments, guitar, accordion, harp, chamber music, piano four hands, opera singers. Every section is divided into categories (for age).
All the winners of advanced categories, (first prizes from 98/100) will take part in further stage (FINAL STAGE). This stage will proclaim the winners of first, second, third and fourth prize of fifth edition of International Music Competition "Premio Città di Padova", acquiring the prizes offered (concerts and cashprizes). The program concerning the final stage will have to be completely different than the first stage.
2) 8th INTERNATIONAL EDITION OF PREMIO VIRTUOSITE' (PIANO, STRINGS, WINDS) This Competition is reserved to pianists, string instrumentes and wind instruments (as soloists or with pianist accompanist - for strings and winds - or in other ensemble). There's one audition of 15 minutes and one category from 16 years old untill 40 years old. The program is free choice and has to be of great virtuosity.
3) 4th EDITION OF INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR SOLOISTS AND ORCHESTRA (PIANO, STRINGS, WINDS) This Competition is reserved to the pianists, the strings and winds instruments - look at the art. 9 with the detailed list. The preliminar stage will take place from June the 28th to July the 4th; because of organizational reasons this selection could continue more than. The final stage with Symphony Orchestra will be the 23th of January 2011 (max. 4 competitors). There are 3 stages: 1) preliminary stage: the competitor will play a solo program free choice (without pianist accompanist for sections 2 and 3 - strings and winds), max duration 15 minutes. Therefore this first examination doesn't fix the pianist accompanist. 2) semifinal stage: the competitor will play one moviment of concert chosen from list - look at the article 9. The performance will be with the accompanist of pianist who 'll play the orchestral score. The moviment who the competitors will have to play will be chosen from the jury and communicated with the results of preliminary stage. Concerning this semifinal stage the competitors will be able to request the pianist accompanist of Padova Competition against payment of surtax (look at the art. 10) or will be able to utilize one's own. The payment will be effected only after the admission to the semifinal stage. 3) final stage with Orchestra: the competitor will play the whole concert with Orchestra during the public concert who'll take place the 23th of January 2011 in Auditorium of Music Conservatory "Cesare Pollini" in Padova.

REGULATION
Art. 1 - The Competition is open to musicians of all nationalities and background. The purpose of competition is the selection of musicians with hight professional qualities for their insertion in national and international concertistic circuit. The winners will be inserted in XVIII International Concert Season 2010-2011 of Padova Music Association AGIMUS and in prestigious places and towns like Palazzo Albrizzi in Venezia for italian culturale institute of German, Palazzo Montanari in Vicenza for Music Association "Amici dell'Olimpico", in the main towns for the italian circuit of Music Association AGIMUS. Besides the winner of "Premio Città di Padova" will be able to have the possibility to play in one of the most important concert hall in Munich (Germany), the "Gasteig", centre of Bavarian Radio-Television.
Art. 2 - The application form must be sent to the Secretary of the Competition not later than May the 26th (dead line) together with: - birth certificate or autocertification; - biography (only for advanced cathegories – CAT. E and section soloists and orchestra) - photocopy of music score if the competitor needs of pianist accompanist (the music score has been sent not later than the dead line - May the 26th). It isn't possibile to send the copy of music score by mail. - photocopy of application entry fee
About payment the competitor can choose between:

Padova International Music Competition Art. 3 - From June the 16th the complete calendary will be ready. It will be possible consult it in the web site of AGIMUS Association (www.padovanet.it/agimus) or write a mail to agimuspadova@libero.it In any case the secretary will inform the competitors by e-mail sending to them the calendary. In the application form it is obligatory to indicate one e-mail address and mobil phone number.
Art. 4 - All the competitors before the audition will have to show to the jury an identify card (or passport) and 2 copies of music score.
Art. 5 - The program for auditions is free choice. The competitors who decide to enter in several sections (for example Piano soloist and Premio Virtuositè or String Instruments and Premio Virtuositè or Wind Instruments and Premio Virtuositè) will have to present a program completely different.
Art. 6 - The competitors can request the pianist accompanist subject to payment of extra charge (look at art. 10) . The extra charge will have to be sent to secretary with the copy of music score not later than May the 26th (dead line). It isn't possibile to send the copy of music score by mail.
Art. 7 RESULTS
8th INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION “PREMIO CITTA’ DI PADOVA”:
ADVANCED CATEGORIES “PREMIO CITTA’ DI PADOVA”. The competitors first prizes in first stage of advanced categories (CATEGORY E) with a score from 98/100 will be admitted to the second stage (final stage). The jury could also decide to admit the competitors first prizes with a score of 95/100, 96/100, 97/100. The jury in final round will fix the winner of “Premio Città di Padova” and the winners of second, third and fourth prize.
CATEGORIES FOR AGE from 95 to 100: Diploma of 1° Prize (100/100: 1° Absolute Prize) from 90 to 94: Diploma of 2° Prize from 85 to 89: Diploma of 3° Prize from 80 to 84: Diploma of 4° Prize
8th INTERNATIONAL EDITION OF PREMIO VIRTUOSITE’ The winner of Premio Virtuositè will be the competitor who will get the higher score of first prize. Besides the jury will fix the winner of second, third and fourth prize.
4th INTERNATIONAL EDITION OF COMPETITION FOR SOLOISTS AND ORCHESTRA During the summer session (July) the jury will proclaim the finalists (max. 4) who will play in final stage in winter session (January 2011 the 23th). At the end of final stage the jury will fix the winner of first, second, third and fourth prize.

The programme is always free choice for all the sections and cathegories. The competitors who will enter in 2 or more sections (for example piano cat. E and Premio Virtuositè, String / Wind Instruments and Premio Virtuositè) will have to present a completely different program.

Art. 11 - The jury will be able to give also prize concerts to others competitors particulary worthy, choosen beetwen the categories and sections of Competition. They will play in XVIII International Concert Season 2010/2011 of Padova Music Association AGIMUS.
Art. 12 - In case of score ex-aequo, the prizes and concerts will be divided. The conditions concerning the concert prizes will be fix directly with each Music Association.
Art. 13 - The letters of invitation for the foreign competitors will be sent only after the payment of fee.
Art. 14 - All the winners will have to take part in final concert at the end of competition. The Concert-Galà will be held in July the 4th at 5 p.m in the concert hall of Palazzo Zacco-Armeni, Padova Prato della Valle 82, in the historic centre of Padova. The winners who will not take part in this concert gala' will lose the prizes and the concerts.
Art. 15 - The competitors will have to pick up the diplomas only during the time of competition.
Art. 16 - The Organization can't be kept responsible for any inconvenience during contest.
Art. 17 - The organization declairs the data get with the application form will be kept and utilized only to send communications concerning exclusively the International Competition.
Art. 18 - Nobody in the jury will be able to present own students or to have artistic relations or relations of acquaintances with the competitors.
Art. 19 - For the rehearsals and exams the competitors will have the harp offered by "SALVI HARPS".
Art. 20 - For anything else not indicated in these rules, the board of Directors has all competences. In any case of doubts the italian version of the contest conditions shall prevail.
