Filmwerkstatt Munster is an association that has had twenty years of experience in the audio-visual and motion picture sector. Its main activity consists in providing the necessary support for the production of films, and in organising seminars, retrospectives and shows. The association also publishes a monthly television magazine dealing with social themes, and funds a number of local productions, among which the documentary of the producer Horst Herz entitled "Oswiemcin" (Auschwitz). Lastly, the video archives of contemporary history that Filmwerkstatt Munster has been able to create are certainly worthy of being mentioned, and especially for the quantity of material they conserve.
Since Munster is actually "the city of the peace treaty of Westphalia", Filmwerkstatt Munster has automatically taken upon itself the commitment of continuously seeking to promote the European spirit, and of contributing, through both theoretical and practical programmes, towards the peaceful coexistence between peoples.
"The MEMORY Project has obtained very wide approval in our association. We think it is of great importance to record and conserve the testimonials of the Second World War generation. Through this project, we hope to be able to carry on with the work we started years back, and will try to create a network of collaboration at European level".
