How the Multimedia Room was created
While
the Multimedia Room was being planned and created, some of the motifs
so typical of the Scrovegni Chapel itself were repeated. The
prevailing cobalt colour echoes the deep blue of the background, which
Giotto applied to the ceiling and walls as if it were a great mantle covering
them. The ceiling illumination copies that of the vault of the Chapel,
with its seven hundred golden stars. The deep apse evokes the sense of
space of the Chapel, and the curved, velvety walls modify our perception
of perspective, amplifying the virtual dimension of this itinerary, in
a space which is similar to that of the Chapel, but is subtly different.
