Free textbooks for primary school - school year 2022/2023
All students enrolled in primary school receive textbooks free of charge. The Veneto Region has established (with Regional Law no. 16 of 27 April 2012) that textbooks are provided by the municipality of residence of the students.
Book coupon - school year 2022/2023
Il The Municipality provides Padua residents (even if enrolled in schools located in other municipalities) attending primary school with textbooks free of charge.
For the 2022/2023 school year, the Municipality of Padua has adopted a computerised coupon creation system. No paper coupons will, therefore, be handed over to the parent.
The bookshop/bookstore, by accessing with their own credentials the portal made available by the Municipality of Padua and entering the child's tax code, will see the associated coupon. If the coupon is available, the shopkeeper can deliver the textbooks (if the user has already used the coupon, it will appear as already used).
To use the service, the parent/guardian must go to the authorised bookshops with only the child's tax code. The retailer will order and deliver the textbooks, at the expense of the municipality.
The coupons will be made out in the name of the student, and will bear the reference to the class of enrolment; it will be the responsibility of the family to deliver to the retailer of their choice the list of books adopted.

ATTENTION
- families of children resident in Padua who attend a school located outside the of the Province, must request the creation of the coupon in electronic format from the Education Right Office (Ufficio diritto allo studio), with the appropriate form that can be downloaded from the "Documents" section of this page, by 31 July 2022;
- families of children resident in other municipalities who attend a school in Padua must contact their municipality of residence for the supply of books.
Arrangements for retailers
Retailers must follow the instructions contained in the circular in the “Documents” section of this page in order to obtain accreditation.
The software will allow the creation of the expense report to be sent to the Municipality of Padua for reimbursement.
